Jack Sather in England, 1945
Wednesday, June 18th, 2008My grandpa Jack was stationed in England as a B-17 mechanic during World War II. I have always really liked this photo, but it has not aged well. Jack is standing on the wing with his hands on his hips, third from the right. There is a handwritten note on the back:
487 Bomb Group
836 Bomb Squad.
England 1945
I believe the photo was taken at Lavenham Army Air Force Station 137 in Suffolk, England. The plane is a B-17G, number 44-8039.
The full-sized scan is 5157×2201.

Harley and Moe in Town
Saturday, October 14th, 2006Harley and Moe made it back out to visit us again for a good long weekend. They spent Thursday bumming around SF and Friday in the park with Monica and Wuy. Friday night we had dinner at Monica and Wuy’s – Chris was coincidently in town for business and he joined us too. On Saturday we met the Kims for Korean barbecue in Oakland and then spent the day in Berkeley. We ended the day with dinner at the Bunker. Sunday morning we headed north to go camping.
